Frequently Asked Questions
What happens in 100 years if your website shuts down?
Your encrypted data remains securely stored in cloud infrastructure (Supabase/AWS). Furthermore, your downloaded PDF Certificate contains the master access key, allowing descendants to decrypt records independently.
Can platform administrators read my private capsules?
No. We utilize a Zero-Knowledge architecture. Master encryption keys are generated and held solely by you via your PDF Certificate.
Can I delete or modify my capsule after sealing?
No. Operating as an immutable time-lock contract, data cannot be altered, edited, or deleted prior to the expiration date.

Terms of Service & Privacy Protocol
Last updated: August 2026
01. Age Requirement (18+)
By registering or using 100YearsCapsule, you legally declare and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age (or have reached the age of majority in your jurisdiction). Minors are strictly prohibited from creating accounts or sealing digital time capsules without direct parental or legal guardian supervision.
02. Capsule Visibility (Public vs. Private)
Users may choose between Public and Private visibility when creating a vault. Public vaults may appear in general historical archives after the unlock date. Private vaults operate on a strict Zero-Knowledge architecture and remain completely hidden from all public indexes, accessible solely via the cryptographic Access Key stored on your physical PDF certificate.
03. Immutable Data & Zero Deletion Policy
100YearsCapsule operates as an immutable digital time-lock protocol. Once you click "Seal Forever", your data is encrypted and committed. Standard "Right to Be Forgotten" (GDPR / CCPA data deletion requests) does not apply to sealed vaults, as users give explicit, irrevocable consent to preserve content until the designated unlock expiration date. Content cannot be edited, removed, or retrieved prematurely.
04. User Content Liability
You maintain 100% legal ownership and full responsibility for all data, text, images, and videos uploaded through your account. You agree not to upload illegal, malicious, copyright-infringing, or harmful materials (including CSAM, terrorist propaganda, or malware). We retain the absolute right to purge accounts or report violations if binding legal warrants or court orders are served.
05. "Best Effort" Infrastructure & Force Majeure
We deploy enterprise-grade cloud storage solutions (Supabase / AWS) designed for longevity. However, 100YearsCapsule provides services on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We assume no legal or financial liability for long-term data loss resulting from catastrophic global events, widespread internet protocol collapse, severe geopolitical breakdowns, or third-party cloud provider bankruptcies over a 100-year horizon.
06. Zero-Knowledge Master Keys
For high-security privacy, encryption keys are generated and embedded directly into your downloaded PDF Certificate. We practice Zero-Knowledge architecture: our engineering team does not store plain-text master keys. If you lose your PDF certificate and backup key, data recovery is mathematically impossible.
